Description: This beautiful little Labs were abandoned at a high kill shelter. They are so precious and are happy living in a foster home while waiting on there furever homes!
Leash Manners - No leash training yet.
Crate/House - She is kept in a pen at night with her siblings. Paper is placed in the front of the pen and the bedding is placed in the back of the pen. The bedding is dry. Training paper is always used. I keep the training paper in several areas in the puppy area for their use when not outside. Of course accidents do happen. This is a continual process with a puppy.
Socialization - Bonny is a really sweet little girl. She loves everybody. She likes to be held and will give you a lot of kisses.
Energy Level and Exercise - She is always full of energy. We have a large enclosed area for her to play in with her siblings. She loves digging in the dirt and chasing her siblings. I will take them into the yard several times a day to play with our other dogs and to run and play.
Daily Structure and Schedule - She is taken outside first thing in the morning to do her business. I feed the puppies ½ cup dry puppy dog food (currently Proplan) and 2 tablespoons of canned puppy dog food (currently Iams or Pedigree) and a large tablespoon of plain yogurt in the morning. Yogurt contains probiotics which is healthy for all dogs. In the evening, they are given ½ cup dry puppy food and large tablespoon of yogurt. I use the medium size Milkbone dog treats as a treat a couple times a day.
Temperament - She has an excellent temperament. She is a real sweet little girl.
Obedience Training - No obedience training yet.
Behaviors - She has no unusual behaviors. She is a typical puppy who loves to run and play.
Personality Quirks - She has no unusual quirks. She is a happy puppy.
Ideal Home - She needs a loving family to welcome Bonny into their home. A child would be wonderful as well. Bonny really enjoyed our grandson when he visited us.
*** According to www.dogbreedinfo.com, the Labrador Retriever is a loving, affectionate, lovable, patient dog. Once known as the "St John's Dogs," the Labrador Retriever is one of the most popular breeds in the United States. Originally from Newfoundland, Canada the Labrador was trained to jump overboard into the icy waters to haul fisherman's nets to shore. Specimens were brought to England in the 1800's by English ships coming from Labrador, where the dog's fine retrieving instincts were honed and developed. One of the best family dogs and canine companions because of their gentle, loving disposition, the highly trainable Labrador also excels in drug detection, as a guide for the blind, and service dog for the disabled. The breed is also an outstanding obedience and field trial competitor. Highly intelligent, loyal, willing, and high-spirited. Lively and good-natured, they love to play, especially in water - for they love to swim. They have an excellent, reliable, temperament and are friendly, superb with children and equable with other dogs. They crave human attention and need to feel as though they are part of the family. Labs are easily trained. These dogs are watchdogs, not guard dogs, although some have been known to guard. They have a life expectancy of 10-12 years.
