This puppy was brought to us with their mother and her sister as well as her puppies also. Pearl the mom, can be seen on our website unless wwe have already found her a home.
Foster update: Sport is a beautiful little girl whose name suits her. She loves to run and she is very fast when running. She is not a large puppy. She is a beautiful light chocolate color with Brindle coloring in her legs. She has a white ring around her neck and down the center of her face. She has beautiful blue eyes. She will bark at me to get my attention. She likes to be held and will give you an abundance of kisses. She looks like her mother who is Pearl who is up for adoption as well. She is a JackRussell/Catahula mix. The blue eyes are common in this breed. She is fed Pedigree dry and canned dog food. She enjoys the treats that include Small size dry milkbones, Pup Pperione and fiddle faddle. The Fiddle faddle is found in Publics and Pesmart. It is a rawhide with dried chicken wrapped around it. They will eat anything at anytime. The puppies are full of endless energy all day and night.
Sport will walk with a leash but will carry it in her mouth. She is improving with potty training but this is a continual process with a puppy. She is taken outside when taken from the crate. She will always urinate when taken outside. She loves to play in the yard with her litter mates and our own dogs. We do not have a cat. I can not determine if she is crate trained since she sleeps with some of her litter mates. She has had 2 of her innoculaions and will be spayed 10/31.She is a really sweet girl who will be a great addition to a forever home.
According to www.dogbreedinfo.com, the Jack Russell Terrier was developed in 19th century England by a clergyman named Jack Russell. This feisty little terrier was used to hunt small game, particularly fox, by digging the quarry out of its den. Breeders have emphasized its working ability, so the standard is very broad, encompassing a wide range of accepted body types. On English hunts, the Jack Russell Terriers were supposed to be long-legged enough to keep up with the hounds. The energetic and playful Jack Russell makes a good family companion. The Jack Russell Terrier is a perky, merry, devoted, and loving dog. Spirited and obedient, yet absolutely fearless. Careful and amusing, he enjoys games and playing with toys. Friendly and generally kind to children who have been taught not to tease or strike the dog. They are intelligent, yet willful and determined. They have strong hunting instincts (stronger than your average terrier) and should not be trusted with other small animals. They like to chase and explore. Be careful not to let them off the lead unless they are very well-trained. Jack Russells like to bark and dig. They tend to get restless and destructive if not kept fruitfully occupied and well exercised. Jack Russells climb, which means they can climb over a fence, they also jump. A Jack that stands 12 inches high can easily jump five feet. JRTs are not the breed for a inexperienced dog owner. This is a BIG dog in a little dogs body. The owner needs to be as strong-willed as they are, or this little guy will take over.
