Foster Update 4/22/13: Caliophe is adjusting to her new enviroment well. Caliophe was brought to me because she had developed a skin condition. It has been determined that she appears to be allergic to foods that contain grains. Since having her on a 100% grain free diet, her skin is clearing up and hair is begining to regrow. She has been eating Pure Vita Chicken Dry Food (Grain Free) and a combination of meats for wet food. I also buy a grain free wet food for times when I am not able to cook meat for her. She is a beautiful cat with a great personality. I think she would do well as an only child or maybe with one additional cat. She likes attention and wants to be around her human family. She is very sweet and low key, but still likes to play.

Foster Update 1/19/13: Caliophe aka "Toto"  is a very sweet, quiet kitty.  I say kitty, even though she is a full grown cat because she is petite. When she curls up into a ball she looks like a little kitty.

She is shy and a little anxious when in a new environment which is not unusual. The first week we had her she would hide under our bed, or stay on top of our bed.  She was not much into exploring at this time as most cats like to do. Also, when she is nervous or anxious she tends to overgroom .  She over groomed a patch on her back and lost her hair there. She's been wearing a cone for a few days though and her hair is growing back nicely.

Caliophe likes to cuddle right next us in bed at night, unlike some cats that prefer the foot of the bed.  You can put your arm around her and pet her and she turns on the purring machine. Sometimes she will move to sleep on top of you but she probably won't wake you because she is so light.

She has been passive around our other two cats and minds her own business.  I don't think Caliophe/Toto has a mean bone in her body.

She will make a great cat in a quiet home and for someone who likes to have a cat to snuggle next to at night!!Calliope is the quintessential lap cat.  She loves to be held and cuddled, and will do whatever it takes to be the center of attention.  She is young and healthy and ready for a warm, loving, permanent home.
