ZaZa was given to our shelter by a man walking on the street. He stated that he could not "sell" this dog and needed to get rid of it. Poor sweet ZaZa! Were hoping to get this puppy into a loving home that will cherish her forever!
Foster Update: ZaZa is now a dog park veteran. We go every day, sometimes twice a day. She gets along with everyone, loves people, and just wants to play with every dog (big or small makes no difference to her). She loves the water and swimming in the lake. She doesn't sleep in her crate at night anymore. She does fine all night, from 10-10:30 to 7 am, sleeping outside my bedroom (she knows not to come inside the room, as it is off limit to her). She knows "sit", "Paw", and "down" perfectly. She also knows "NO" (as in STOP) and she will stop whatever she is doing. She knows her name and when you're talking to her. ZaZa is happy, playful, super smart, and very loving, everyone who meets her loves her immediately. She is not aggressive in any way to adults, kids, cats, or other dogs. She is actually scared of my big cat. She's never tried to bite or chase him, even in self-defense. she just turns her head away from him and crawls toward me. She still doesn't bark much, maybe one bark here and there, never loudly in my apartment. Mainly, if she barks at all it is at the dog park when she gets excited playing with the other dogs and she hears them bark. But it still doesn't happen often."
Foster Update: Zaza is the perfect puppy. She is fully house trained and sleeps in her crate at night. I still haven't heard her bark, not even at other dogs. She does whine a little when first put in her crate at night, but stops after 5 min if you tell her to. She knows "Sit" and we're working on "Paw", but she learns very quickly..She is a people kind of dog. She loves every one and wants them to pet her. She's coming out of her shell a lot too and becoming a lot more playful..She does great around my cat, never chased him, growled, or showed any kind of aggressive behavior toward him..She does need to be introduced to other unknown dogs gently and one at a time if at all possible..we went to the dog park for the first time and it was definitely to much to handle having 10 big unleashed dogs come at her all at once..but she does fine in other settings and we will try the dog park again this week end. She's easy going and just goes with the flow...if I'm hyper and want to play with her, she will..if I'm tired or just doing homework, she will just lay at my feet the entire time. In my opinion, she will make an outstanding addition to any family and they will be lucky to have found such an adorable, smart, agreeable, and sooo funny (and did I mention perfect?lol) little puppy:)
The Terrier is a good-natured, amusing, extremely loyal and affectionate family pet, which is good with children and adults. Almost always obedient, it is always eager to please its master. It is an extremely courageous and intelligent guard dog that is very full of vitality. They are highly protective of their owners and the owner's property. It is usually very friendly, but has an uncanny ability to know when it needs to protect and when everything is okay. Excellent with children in the family, they have a high pain tolerance and will happily put up with rough child play. As with any breed, they should not be left alone with unfamiliar children. Used as all around working farm dogs, they were referred to as "the poor mans horse". They are strong and generally weigh between 40 and 70 lbs. They have a life expectancy of about 12 - 14 years.
