Adwin is looking for a loving home after he was found wandering the streets with his buddy Deacon. This is the sweetest happiest dog I have ever met! Seems to love all people and definitely other dogs.
Foster Update: We have officially had Adwin for a week now and he immediately wiggled his way into our hearts. He is such a joy to have around. He is so happy and fun-loving, and also very sweet and snuggly. The best of both worlds! In the house he is very mellow and content to snuggle up to you or keep himself occupied playing with toys or our dogs. He gets along great with our dogs and definitely looks to them for leadership and direction. We also take him to the dog park daily and he get along so well with everyone! Every dog or human he meets immediately becomes his best friend. He plays well with dogs of all ages and sizes and does well adjusting his energy level to the dog he is playing with. He is good with the kids he has met as well.
We have spent the majority of this week just getting him used to living in a house and the rules and manners that go along with it, and he has done great with that. Potty training is going exceptionally well! He has followed the lead of our dogs on going outside to potty and he has picked up on it so quickly. In the past couple of days he has actually started going to the door to signal us that he needs to go out, so that is a huge milestone! He has also learned how to sit and lay down and we are working on wait and come. He is really very smart and picks up on things quickly and looks for direction very well. We have started working on loose leash walking too and I expect him to have this down in no time! I think he is a dog that could have really strong recall with continued practice. He sleeps in his kennel at night and is in there when we are gone and he doesn't have a problem being in it at all. He is learning the command "go to bed" and is happy to oblige. Nothing phases this little guy. We have given him a bath, trimmed his nails, cleaned his ears, and brushed his teeth and nothing has bothered him a bit. He is really just a wonderful puppy and he is going to make a fantastic addition to someone's home!
The Terrier is a good-natured, amusing, extremely loyal and affectionate family pet, which is good with children and adults. Almost always obedient, it is always eager to please its master. It is an extremely courageous and intelligent guard dog that is very full of vitality. They are highly protective of their owners and the owner's property. It is usually very friendly, but has an uncanny ability to know when it needs to protect and when everything is okay. Excellent with children in the family, they have a high pain tolerance and will happily put up with rough child play. As with any breed, they should not be left alone with unfamiliar children. Used as all around working farm dogs, they were referred to as "the poor mans horse". They are strong and generally weigh between 40 and 70 lbs. They have a life expectancy of about 12 - 14 years.
