Description:

Foster Update 10/2/12: Shelly is a half-polydactyl, she has the thumb position of a Hemmingway kitty but one on paw she has five fingers (normal) and on the other hand she has six (two thumbs)!  One thumb is pretty small and only noticeable because there is an extra nail.  

Shelly is sporting a Halloween bandana since she's a black cat, she doesn't seem to mind and when she runs around it looks like a cape!  Shelly has become an extreme snuggler and is now a great lapcat.  She has a morning and bed time ritual where she hops on the bed with us for nap time.  She likes to snuggle up on one of our necks to get petted and will let out a cute little cry if you ignore her.  She's incredibly loving and is the sweetest cat you could ever want.  She's not only snuggles though, she is quite the hunter.  She bolts after any toy that moves and will flip and fly in the air while chasing a feather toy.  She never seems to get tired of playing.

Foster update 6/17/12: Shelly and her brothers and sister were found behind an apartment complex near Blanchard Park.  She was born to a feral mother who is a small gray tabby and taken in as a foster.  Shelly is the cutest mix of soft black fur with white markings on her nose and chest.  She is a great mix of energetic and lap cat.  She’s happy playing with a shoe by herself or chasing after a wand toy, ball, or one of her brothers or sister.  She likes to sleep with her siblings but would probably take to sleeping with her human friend if she was alone and they wanted to.
