These sweet puppies came to us from a high kill shelter. They are a cute mix..were thinking this litter had multiple fathers as 2 looks like Lab/Shepherds and 1 a lab/Corgi...well either way they are cute and are looking for furever homes! Lori has the lab shepherd markings but will be on the smaller side and is very sweet and gentle. She loves to be held, and actually almost melts in your arms when you snuggle with her, but is cautious when coming to you . She is not the kids of pup that runs to you with uncaring abandon! She is very smart in that way, and will be a wonderful medium size short haired girl for some lucky family.
Foster Update: Lori is a bright, sweet and playful puppy looking for an active family to keep up with her. She is very alert and responsive- never missing a new sound. Lori is curious, loves to explore, and finds a way to play with everything she finds. She quickly adapts to new situations and learns new behaviors and routines easily. This little lady has a pretty face with big, brown eyes and a soft coat with beautiful markings. Lori is attentive, affectionate and loving. She has a lot of energy and requires a good amount of exercise each day. She would thrive with an active family, perhaps with another dog to play with. Lori should grow to be a beautiful, loving and obedient member of one very lucky family happy to give her the love and attention she deserves.
*** According to www.dogbreedinfo.com, the Labrador Retriever is a loving, affectionate, lovable, patient dog. Once known as the "St John's Dogs," the Labrador Retriever is one of the most popular breeds in the United States. Originally from Newfoundland, Canada the Labrador was trained to jump overboard into the icy waters to haul fisherman's nets to shore. Specimens were brought to England in the 1800's by English ships coming from Labrador, where the dog's fine retrieving instincts were honed and developed. One of the best family dogs and canine companions because of their gentle, loving disposition, the highly trainable Labrador also excels in drug detection, as a guide for the blind, and service dog for the disabled. The breed is also an outstanding obedience and field trial competitor. Highly intelligent, loyal, willing, and high-spirited. Lively and good-natured, they love to play, especially in water - for they love to swim. They have an excellent, reliable, temperament and are friendly, superb with children and equable with other dogs. They crave human attention and need to feel as though they are part of the family. Labs are easily trained. These dogs are watchdogs, not guard dogs, although some have been known to guard. They have a life expectancy of 10-12 years.
