Update 3/2019: Slate has really come out of his shell as he adjusts to being at our center. He is such an affectionate and playful cat. He likes to stay in his bed a lot, but once you start petting him, he will come out and search for attention. When the staff comes in in the morning, he is usually on a tall cat tree and is often playing with a scratching post up there. He has such a soft coat. 

Slate would make a perfect companion to any family.

Slate was adopted from Pet Rescue by Judy back in 2012 and was just recently returned due to allergies. Since then he has been hiding behind one of the cat trees or under a bed.   He had his own home for 6 plus years and now he does not understand why he is here and where his family is. Slate would benefit right now being in a quiet home as the only pet or with another calm, mature cat. We do feel this wonderful cat will come around once he is used to a new home envirorment and we were told by his previous owners that he is litterbox trained and good with other cats, but being her with 30 other cats is very stressful for him. He has a really beautiful, soft coat. He enjoys to be pet. 

This sad, beautiful cat needs a new, loving family to rebuild his confidence and bring joy back into his life.  If you are interested in Slate he is available for fostering or adopting.
