About Verde the St. Patrick's Day Puppy | |

|
These adorable puppies are a prime example of why you should always spay and neuter your pets. They are the product of an accidental litter. We hope to find them great homes where they will always be cared for.
Foster Update: Verde is a sweet baby face boy with a tan coat and white markings. He is the smallest of the bunch with the biggest personality! He loves to be the center of attention and has no problem making himself known! He loves to be held and will fall asleep if rocked like a baby. He keeps up with the rest of the litter without a problem, and can often be seen starting a race around the house. He loves his toys and treats and will be grateful for an endless supply! Verde comes when called and listens attentively. He loves his crate, sleeps through the night, is the first one up in the morning, is good at bath time and will train easily. He will do well with lots of love and attention! It was a pleasure fostering Verde and he will be greatly missed in our home.
Foster Update: Verde is the smallest of the litter, a bit on the skinny side, no matter what I feed him. He's our "look at me" guy! He will find you wherever you are and LOVES attention and to be held. He smothers you with kisses and almost smiles at you when he's wagging his tail waiting to be picked up. Verde is fearless and full of energy and is often the only one still cruising around when the others are wiped out. First awake in the morning and first to the front of the pen! Ronan is his big buddy. They are very cute together.
*** According to www.dogbreedinfo.com, the Labrador Retriever is a loving, affectionate, lovable, patient dog. Once known as the "St John's Dogs," the Labrador Retriever is one of the most popular breeds in the United States. Originally from Newfoundland, Canada the Labrador was trained to jump overboard into the icy waters to haul fisherman's nets to shore. Specimens were brought to England in the 1800's by English ships coming from Labrador, where the dog's fine retrieving instincts were honed and developed. One of the best family dogs and canine companions because of their gentle, loving disposition, the highly trainable Labrador also excels in drug detection, as a guide for the blind, and service dog for the disabled. The breed is also an outstanding obedience and field trial competitor. Highly intelligent, loyal, willing, and high-spirited. Lively and good-natured, they love to play, especially in water - for they love to swim. They have an excellent, reliable, temperament and are friendly, superb with children and equable with other dogs. They crave human attention and need to feel as though they are part of the family. Labs are easily trained. These dogs are watchdogs, not guard dogs, although some have been known to guard. They have a life expectancy of 10-12 years.
