About Maria the Sweet Terrier | |
She is crate trained and knows her current eating and bathroom schedule pretty well. If you forget, she will remind you (: Because someone is home with her all day, she currently gets fed twice a day around 8 am and 5 pm. For breakfast she eats 3 cups dry food, and dinner she gets half can of wet and 2 cups of dry food. She could definitely eat more if you let her, but she gets various treats and snacks throughout the day. Her current bathroom schedule is 8 am, 12:30 pm, 5 pm, and 10 pm. If she is more active or has too many treats in between these times, she may have to go more frequently. For the dry food, she has allergies to different brands. We currently feed her Rachel Ray brand dry foods. She's been on this brand for 6 months, and haven't had any issues. Every time we buy more, we rotate to a different flavor of Rachel Ray food so she doesn't get bored with the taste. For the wet food, we buy the different flavors of Alpo.
As far as toys, she pretty much demolishes them all in speedy time. Even the indestructible so-called toys. Nothing is unbreakable for her (: She LOVES toys, but since she destroys them so quickly, we don't waste money on expensive ones any more. The cheap ones last just as long. Definitely stay away from soft or rope toys. She actually loves to eat them - the cotton from soft toys and the strings from the rope toys. She also doesn't sleep with any items, especially pillows, blankets, or towels as those and any other things in OR around her crate (rugs or mats) will get demolished as you sleep. Before I forget to mention, she sleeps in a crate. She tends to stay up late at night, so we put her in her crate in a room with a night light.
