Gucci and his siblings were surrendered after a kind animal lover saw that this litter was in need of being saved. They were in some shape...full of worms and fleas but with TLC and a great vet, we treated them and they are truly healthy and happy puppies and ready for their forever home!
Foster Update: My two charges are growing like little weeds. We have them on Chicken Soup for the Puppy Lovers Soul. Its first four ingredients are meat and they love it. They play hard, sleep hard and eat and drink like little piglets. They absolutely love my four Danes but of course I can't let them play together because of the size difference. Both dogs allow me to pick them up and turn them over on their backs on my lap. This, of course, is always a good sign of a relaxed dog and one that will most likely be fairly easy to train if started young. Gucci looks just like the female except he is all black where she has a beautiful white blaze on her chest. He is a little more laid back than his sister Prada but is still quite active. He's just not quite as large, fast or assertive as his sister. He like his sister loves people and other dogs. They love their toys and love to play tug-of-war.

Once known as the "St John's Dogs," the Labrador Retriever is one of the most popular breeds in the United States. Originally from Newfoundland, Canada the Labrador was trained to jump overboard into the icy waters to haul fisherman's nets to shore. Specimens were brought to England in the 1800's by English ships coming from Labrador, where the dog's fine retrieving instincts were honed and developed. One of the best family dogs and canine companions because of their gentle, loving disposition, the highly trainable Labrador also excels in drug detection, as a guide for the blind, and service dog for the disabled. The breed is also an outstanding obedience and field trial competitor. Highly intelligent, loyal, willing, and high-spirited. Lively and good-natured, they love to play, especially in water - for they love to swim. They have an excellent, reliable, temperament and are friendly, superb with children and equable with other dogs. They crave human attention and need to feel as though they are part of the family. Labs are easily trained. These dogs are watchdogs, not guard dogs, although some have been known to guard. They have a life expectancy of 10-12 years.
