Description: Maggie Mae is an energetic pure bred MinPin in need of a home. Who would think a 10 year old dog with no behavior problems would be facing this dilemma, but that is exactly what has happened. This poor girl lost her home recently because of family upheavel. A friend took her in happily because he already had two MinPins, but his landlord will not let him have three dogs. Gosh, when they're this small, it seems like three of them only adds up to one REAL dog ~ yeah, I'm a big-dog person! :) But even I would love this little girl. Here are some insights from her current owner:
"Maggie Mae is friendly with all humans, loves the one on one attention. She loves chasing squirrels and toys around the apartment. But she does enjoy her sleep time. She gets along with big and small dogs for the most part, but sometimes creates problems if she feels she's not getting your full attention. " My older sister is that way too but that's a different story. back to Maggie Mae..... "Her best situation would be with one other dog at most. Someone in the house that would enjoy being outside and taking her for walks. Someone willing to take her to the doggie park once in a while. She loves sleeping in my bed but she is just as fine sleeping in her doggie bed and she really loves just being tucked in. I don't really know what type of situations to avoid with her becuase there really hasn't been an issues except for the other dog thing which is why I said 1 other dog max would be just fine. Oh and maybe if she is outside with no fence I would just make sure she has a leash on because when she starts chasing the squirrels I'm not sure if she would know how to get back if she ran far enough. I've never let her run without a lease so I'm not exactly sure on that one. I tried pleading with my apartment and even offered to pay additional deposits or rent but that was a no go. This really tears me up inside that I can not keep her. I really want to find her a good home...."
I think we can do that, don't you? There's not a thing wrong with Maggie Mae (well, it wouldn't hurt her to lose a pound or two, but who am I to throw stones?) and there's a whole lot that is right with her! I think it's funny that, at 10 years old, she is still highly active. We're designating her a senior pet so that she will qualify for our Seniors for Senior program. Let's get her a wonderful forever home!
And one last comment from her current owner: "Here is the only video I have of Maggie Mae at the moment. I really think it's going to be hard to tell just how cute and fun loving she is from ANY video but it's a start. I know it's short but it's the only one I have right now."

According to www.dogbreedinfo.com, the Miniature Pinscher is not related to the Doberman Pinscher, and is in fact an older breed than the Doberman. Developed in Germany from terrier breeds, including the German Pinscher, the Miniature Pinscher's original use was in hunting rats to keep the population down in the stables that it frequented. Italian Greyhound blood may have been added to produce such a tiny, high stepping-dog. The word "Pinscher" means "terrier" in German. Today the MinPin's high spirit and bright personality make him a charming companion. Some of the Miniature Pinscher's talents are competitive obedience, watchdogging, and agility. The Miniature Pinscher is a hardy little fellow that is very demanding and headstrong. This proud, overly courageous dog likes to bark. They are loyal to their masters, spirited and alert, with high energy. Intelligent, lively and brave, it is a big dog in a little dog's body. The Miniature Pinscher is moderately protective. Some can be very aggressive with other dogs, but they are generally good with other pets and children provided the children do not pester. They are rather suspicious towards
