August 2008:
Barney was adopted from us in February by a lovely family with 3 young children. Life was great until their landlord pulled a fast one and they suddenly found themselves without a home. Heartbroken, they called us and asked us to find their darling Barney a new home. The good thing is that we hardley recognized our boy when we saw him. He has obviously thrived in their care and looks fabulous. The photo of him with puppy Gala was taken today. Doesn't he look grand!?! So please, if you are looking for a loving family dog, consider Barney.

January 2008:
Barney is a sweet and loving two year old. He was found by a kind couple who have tried to find his family to no avail. They took him to Animal Control in the hopes of finding his owners. But when they didn't show and Barney's time was up, they took him back rather than see him put to sleep. Oh, that all the sweet pets had such guardian angels!!! Now we are working together to find a forever home for this sweet boy. Here are some insights from this kind couple:

"Barney is a very sweet and loving dog. He is still young, loves to play, and has lots of energy. We think he would make a great pet. We would love to keep him ourselves, but don't feel we have enough time to dedicate to him.

Barney is very friendly. Great with both dogs and cats. We don't have kids nor have we seen him interact with kids. But based on his behavior with our animals and other people I think he would be good with kids.

Barney is mostly housetrained, but we have had a couple of accidents. He needs to be crate trained since he tends to chew when left alone. He jumps on people to say hello, but has been getting better with discipline. He knows sit, sometimes (when its in his best interest). He likes playing tug with us and our dog. He likes to play chase.

Barney needs a home that will be able to keep up with his active personality. We really want to find him a good home. He is a sweet, loving dog who deserves a family of his own. We are very sad that we have not been able to return him to his original owner."
