Description:
Grace came to us from the Seminole County animal shelter. We were contacted by the administrator asking us to take in her and her two puppies. The people of Seminole County are truly fortunate in the people they have running that shelter ~ they have a heart of gold and campaign tirelessly trying to find homes for all of their abandoned pets. We love them to pieces!
And so does Grace! This sweet girl has a gentle tender heart. She has those lab eyes, depths of love. Her foster mom giggled when she named her Grace because, "She's not terribly graceful, but she's very sweet and loves being held. Her puppies are a riot - they've been hard to get pics of because they're quick and crazy! Mom gets along with other dogs just fine, and really is a lovely girl."

Foster update Feb 6:
"Grace really wants YOU! In fact, she wants to be in your lap! Grace is a momma dog who has finished weaning her pups and is ready to find her forever home. She loves to cuddle, and takes cute little snorty breaths when she's happy. :) She tends to pull on a leash, so I have been using a Gentle Leader EasyWalk Harness. It's safe for her, and secure, and teaches her not to pull. (she hasn't pulled with it - I love these harnesses - it hooks in the front so the dog is led a little like a horse) Grace gets along well with other dogs, although is very curious about cats. She hasn't made any aggressive turns towards mine, but your mileage may vary - if someone else is chasing, she jumps in too. She enjoys a good chewy toy (she found the Kongs really fast!), and really just wants someone to curl up with and love on her. She's had some rough times, and deserves a great home."

*** How familiar are you with the Labrador Retriever? According to www.dogbreedinfo.com, the Labrador Retriever is a loving, affectionate, lovable, patient dog. Once known as the "St John's Dogs," the Labrador Retriever is one of the most popular breeds in the United States. Originally from Newfoundland, Canada the Labrador was trained to jump overboard into the icy waters to haul fisherman's nets to shore. Specimens were brought to England in the 1800's by English ships coming from Labrador, where the dog's fine retrieving instincts were honed and developed. One of the best family dogs and canine companions because of their gentle, loving disposition, the highly trainable Labrador also excels in drug detection, as a guide for the blind, and service dog for the disabled. The breed is also an outstanding obedience and field trial competitor. Highly intelligent, loyal, willing, and high-spirited. Lively and good-natured, they love to play, especially in water - for they love to swim. They have an excellent, reliable, temperament and are friendly, superb with children and equable with other dogs. They crave human attention and need to feel as though they are part of the family. Labs are easily trained. These dogs are watchdogs, not guard dogs, although some have been known to guard. They have a life expectancy of 10-12 years.
