Description:

Jazzy will head-butt your hand for some petting-attention.  After being moved several times over the last few months, she just wants a home, person, and lap to call hers forever.

Jasmine and her sister were surrendered together after losing their home of two years.  They are both very sweet.

Foster Update 04.13.12:  Jazzy is currently in a foster home with dogs and multiple non-declawed cats.  This would not be the preferred setting for a declawed cat but is the situation right now.  Some of the resident cats have taken their opportunities to challenge poor declawed Jazzy.  She has been pretty good about it though.

Jazzy sure would love to get some love.  (Her foster mom is pretty busy with work and school right now.)  She will talk to you but I don't think she's a real 'extroverted talker'.  She probably just wants me to sit down so she can get in my lap!  Jazzy would probably really benefit from some consistency in a loving environment since she has been bounced from place to place.

Jazzy loves to sit in the window sill.  She also has taken to her kitty bed and recently discovered the cubby-hole in the cat tree (that none of the resident cats ever wanted anything to do with).  She lays in the cubby-hole with her little head peaking out.

Foster Update 04.01.12:  Jazzy's environment has changed several times over the past several months but she adapts quickly.  She has resided with a not-so-happy resident cat but Jazzy didn't care.  She just wanted love from the human in the house.

Since last night was the first night for Jazzy in my home, I isolated her in her own room to make her a little more comfortable.  The resident cats apparently wanted to see what furry thing I brought into their house now.  They popped the door open during the night.  My concern is that Jazzy is declawed and they are not.  Everything seemed fine though.

Foster Update 03.18.12:  Jazzy's personality surfaces little bit more each day.  She is a talkative little girl!  She comes looking for some affection.  Even though she is in a foster home with an assertive cat, that doesn't bother Jazzy at all.  She loves to sit by an open screened in window.  You would never know she was same petrified kitty who was at the shelter just a few weeks ago.

Foster Update 03.11.12:  Jazzy, as Jasmine is affectionately called by her foster mom, is blossoming into a wonderful cat in just a short period of time of being in a foster home.  Being in a shelter environment was very stressful for her but she is now exploring, talking, gaining confidence, and seeking human touch.

Foster Update 03.04.12:  While PRBJ certainly tries to make the shelter the least stressful as possible, some animals may never adjust to the environment.  Our foster volunteers do a great job of getting our cats into foster homes.  Jasmine is a wonderful testament to the difference a home can make for a confused and scared kitty who suddenly loses their home and family.  Jasmine still has her own space (bathroom) in her foster home - has not yet been integrated with the resident cat; however, after a few days she has really relaxed.  She remains laying in her bed when people enter the room - even if the person is a large man she has never met.  She loves to have her chin scratched.  She purrs in appreciation.
