Foster Home Update:

Kita is doing GREAT!  She is a big snuggle bug and is doing great with me, my hubby, and my son.  She is getting along well with my 4 other dogs and especially well with my GSD who is also a PRBJ rescue.  Kita was out all weekend with us socializing.  She did great at Home Depot and charmed everyone at Lowe’s.  She allowed about 30 people total to pet her/feed treats throughout the day and she was fantastic.  Her leash manners are great, as well.  She does not bark at other dogs (yet) and rides great in a vehicle.  The only thing I have seen that may be something to watch is that when she is bored, she will chew on a blanket but is VERY easily redirected with a firm chew toy.  She sleeps on my bed with my GSD and is a big mush-ball who will cuddle with you, roll over and stick all four paws in the air, and want a belly rub.  She does well with property boundaries once they are established and has not barked yet, although she does whine a little when foster mom goes to work.  Any family would be lucky to have her!

UPDATE 3-22-16:  Brownie, now known as Kita, had a wonderful home since she was a puppy.  Kita's owner passed away and she was put in a boarding facility for one month.  Seeing how expensive that can get, they decided to bring her back to Pet Rescue by Judy where she was adopted from.  Obviously, Kita is very confused right now and is a bit nervous.  She is very beautiful and we will evaluate her demeanor and update her profile as we get to know her personality and needs. Won't you be that family who offers her a fur-ever family?

Brownie and her siblings came from an older couple who had found a beautiful Akita mix wandering around their neighborhood.  Low and behold, just a few days later that dog had puppies in their bathroom.  Now that Brownie is old enough, she's ready for a home of her own!

FOSTER UPDATE: Brownie is a tan puppy with a brown muzzle and brown ears. She's a very strong puppy who likes to run around and wrestle with her brothers. She has a pretty moderate energy level. She loves to run while we're outside and she likes to wrestle with her brothers when we're inside, but she slows down after about an hour of play time and will nap every 2-3 hours. She is eating dry dog food about 1/2 cup-3/4 cup twice a day. She settled in pretty quickly when we switched foster homes and she seems to be pretty easy going in most situations. The main thing we’re working on with Brownie is barking/whining for attention a lot. It's getting better, she usually figures out more quickly now that if she stops and sits quietly she will get picked up and loved on. She is a bit more cautious than her brothers when she meets new people and she seems to be very shy with men at first. When she meets new women she just needs a quick sniff and then she seems ok but when she meets new men she doesn't want them to pick her up at all and tends to "scream" if they try. Once she's been able to watch them for a few minutes she will start to warm up. She's great with my dog, Allie (2.5 year old boxer mix). She gets the message easily when Allie starts to get annoyed. She's also great with my cats. She's definitely curious when they come around and wants to sniff them but she doesn't ever try to chase them or paw at them or anything. She has started responding consistently when we're indoors and I call her name or otherwise try to get her attention. She still doesn't respond when we're outside and I try to get her attention.Brownie is what I call half house trained. She has never pooped in the house and if she does need to go pee she will walk to the door and look outside but I usually get about 10 seconds warning before she goes ahead and pees in the house. She is really good about every time we go outside she will immediately pee and then find a spot and pooh if she needs to. Brownie would be good in almost any home. Ideally in a home with at least one other animal but she would still do well being an only pet as long as she got some socialization.
