Smokey is a very handsome and regal, long haired, front de-clawed kitty. He was recently rescued from a veterinarian's office, where he had been surrendered. Luckily, Judy was able to take this sweet baby in. He is very chill, and just wants to be left alone so he can laze in his favorite sleeping spot. However, when he's ready for affection, he'll come find you and plop down on your lap.

Foster Update 10/7/11: Smokey is such a joy to have in our home! He loves to be brushed and purrs at the slightest touch. He's a quiet cat that likes to lounge in the sun but prefers to sit next to you on the couch. At night he'll lay down next to me while I read in bed and if I stop petting him for too long he'll reach up with one paw and gently tug at my shoulder.

He tolerates my 20lb puppy and doesn't mind other cats at all. He's good with tiny kittens as well as older cats; even my 17-year-old cat likes him and he's a bit persnickety in his old age. Smokey is just a calm cat that has a lot of love to give and he would like to share that love with you. 

Volunteer Update 9/15/11: Smokey was doing his best to be adopted today but unfortunately the potential adopter didn't want a male, long haired cat. He was on her lap, nudging her to be petted and stroked. He is a complete love bug who wants to be petted and loved!
