Sydney came to our local vet's office from a local kill shelter. Pretty Boy!! Poor guy has some terrible demodex mange and needs some TLC. He has since been on treatment daily with antibiotics, fish oil, herbal immune builder, weekly medicate baths and medication to help with the mange! He is healing nicely but I don't think his coat will come in fully for another month or two! We did neuter him and he is ready for a forever home that can look beyond his current skin condition and look at his inner beauty! He is such a loving, affectionate puppy! He loves to cuddle and be petted while snuggling in your lap!

Medical update: Sydney was diagnosed with Hip Dysplasia at about 9 months of age. He is currently on an antiinflamatory medication once daily and will most likely need to be on that for life. Because of his size we are not able to preform surgery on Sydney.

Known for their tremendous loyalty and courage, they are calmly confident, but not hostile. This breed needs his people and should not be left isolated for long periods of time. They only bark when it is necessary. Serious and almost human in his intelligence, they have a high learning ability. The German Shepherd also excels in many other dog activities including schutzhund, tracking, obedience, agility, flyball, and ring sport. His fine nose can sniff out drugs and intruders, and can alert handlers to the presence of underground mines in time to avoid detonation, or gas leaks in a pipes buried 15 feet underground. A quick daily brushing is best unless hair in the house is not a problem. They should be bathed rarely, only once or twice a year to avoid skin oil depletion. Shepherds have a life expectancy around 13 years.
