Yeah! Haley is back on the website again!!! She has had a couple of tough months. First, she was adopted by a very lovely young lady who loved her dearly. Unfortunately, the landlord would not approve Haley because he though she was a Pit Bull. How frustrating for us all ~ Haley is NOT a Pit Bull, but he didn't care enough to do his research! So after a couple of weeks of this, Haley came back to us. Sadly, during that time she developed a severe case of mange, probably brought about by stress. Well, we are very fortunate to have among our cast of volunteers Stephanie and Jason. They happily brought her home with them because they had fostered her the first time. And, my, how she has thrived! Just today the vet declared her clear of mange mites (yuck just thinking about it!). We'll keep her on medication for another 30 days just to be on the safe side, plus we need to get her treated for heartworms. Goodness, what more could happen to this sweet girl at such a young age? She deserves such a great home. Everyone who meets Haley can't get over what a wonderful dog she is! If you like that bulldog look packaged along with a sweet disposition, look no further, my friend! You just met your very next pet!!!

Its been 7 weeks as of today. Time sure does fly. I brought Santa to an adoption event on sat. and Judy asked me if I thought Haley was about ready to go back to the Vet and ready for adoption. My Heart sank I know the whole idea of fostering is giving love and care in till PRBJ can find the animals a forever home, but this one is going to be hard to give up. She has been thtu so much she needs to have a family to love her as much as she loves life. Haley's hair has started coming in really nice; in the past 2 weeks she has about 90% coverage!!! Which is very exciting. She still has a few sores left on her but nothing anywhere close to what she looked like 7 weeks ago. A Lot of her playfullness has also returned. She walks nicely on leash as long as she is the only dog your walking. When I take her and Ranger her foster brother on walks i have to use a chocker-chain ( which she hates when she pulls she turns around and bites at it) but if i use a regular collar she competes to see who can lead. and my arms are only so long. but thats only if u walk her with another dog. She has not chewed up anything in a long time ( before she was adopted out 1st time) Every once in a while she has checked out what was going on on the kitchen counters but a scold and some cyan pepper have solved that problem on sniff and she won't be back ~ also works for the trash can. My friend from work had to leave town and needed somewhere her son could stay over i said sure why not. We were talking the dogs for a walk. He had Haley ( I would never make him try to hold my Ranger who is a horrible puller) it was all ready dark and I live in an Apt. Buildings. All of a sudden i hear this grrrr I thought there was another dog got scared. NO it was Haley warning the Weird people over in the dark connor she saw him. Normally she never does this out and about. Maybe she knew something we did not. or sensed that he was younger and need to be guarded. Haley is protective over her pack. But all I had to say was enough and a little snap on the leash and we were on our way. She loves going to the dog parks and on rides in the car anywhere she can meet a friend. I've never seen another dog or person while we are out during the day she does not like. Back in Nov. I took her over to my Parents house to have my lil sis 8th birthday party. She had free roam of the party and house because she did so well with the kids and excitment. where as the other 2 dogs mine and my moms had to be put up away from everything. I've never seen her so happy going from one kid to another getting petted and loved on. She will make a great addition to any family young or old. She would greatly enjoy a back yard to run in. and someone to snuggle under the covers with. I've watched her interact with many Dogs and she does great
