Diamond Girl is a very cute Black Mouth Cur Mix. She was rescued from a no kill shelter. She is looking for a wonderful forever home, might you be the one to give her that?
Diamond Girl is such an amazing dog! She is a beautiful dog with a very sweet face. She is calm and affectionate. Everything we have done with her so far seems to be new to her- she has had very limited life experiences, but one of the most impressive things about her is that she has handled it all like a champ! She definately seeks comfort and affection from people and is so appreciative of every bit of love and attention she gets- like she just can't get enough. She is really enjoying being a part of normal family life! She would fit into just about any type of family. She has so much love to give!
Here are some other observations of interest about Diamond:
*She is playful if you want her to be.
*Likes to play and wrestle with our dog.
*Likes to snuggle and will try to sit in your lap!
*She is GREAT with kids- gives lots of kisses!
*She is good with other dogs- likes to run and play at the dog park.
*She is perfectly house trained- has not had a single accident.
*Quiet- not a barker.
*Listens and responds well- wants to please.
*Does not jump up on people.
*Can be hesitant when strangers approach, but not aggressive.
*No food aggression problems- eats all her food at meal times.
*Does not chew anything other than the bones she is given!
*She is okay on the leash- pulls some, but it seems to just be a lack of experience with walking on a leash. She is learning.
*Seems to be very healthy.
*Sleeps all night and only gets up when everyone else gets up.
*Don't know how she is with cats since we don't have any, but she does show interest in chasing squirrels!
Black Mouth Curs are great family dogs. They are great social dogs if trained properly. The BMC is a "very smart" breed who "by nature need to bond a few weeks"with their owner/trainer before training can begin. The breed shows great loyalty and may even die for their ownerGreat around children if introduced correctly they have great potential to "make wonderful family dogs."As they grow older they become very laid back"The BMC was bred as a homestead dog that would protect its family and home against intruders. This means that a well-bred BMC is territorial. Most BMCs off their 'turf' work well with other dogs, hunting or herding stock, but on their family property will chase the same dog away. Their turf can be viewed by the dog as the family’s home, land, truck, or sometimes proximity to 'their person'
