Update 6/7/11: Poor Gerry is back at the shelter. She was adopted earlier this year but brought back because she was scared of her owner - a single guy. It turns out that Gerry loves females but is scared of men. We think she must have been abused by a man at some point in her life. So, Gerry is back to looking for a forever home, preferably with more females in the house hold than men. With females she is loving and interactive, running up for petting and fusses.
Gerry was found by a nice woman who took her to get her to the vet to get her updated on all her vaccines, but could not keep. She is a beutiful white Calico who really needs your love.
Foster Update 11/12/2010 - Gerry is a lovely proper little lady! Her black and orange splotches stand out beautifully against her snowy white fur and she always sits very precisely with her front feet together. She is still a little shy and prefers to stay under the furniture as a default, but after only a day in our house, she's already coming out for treats and petting. She really LOVES human affection and, once you start petting her, will rub up against you, purrr, and prance around on her tippy-toes for as long as you'll sit with her. I'm excited to see her personality continue to blossom as she gets more comfortable in her new environment. She is fairly talkative and when you talk to her, she'll chatter back at you softly and sometimes "meow" in a very conversational tone. It's really cute! We gave her a bath when she came home and she was SO calm! You could tell it wasn't her favorite thing in the world and she was pretty vocal about her displeasure, but she did really well and didn't try to scratch or bite at all. This beautiful kitty would make a lovely addition to any home!
