Marlene is a beautiful long-haired kitten. She has the markings of a beautiful Maine Coon cat, but I don’t think she will grow to that size.
Marlene is a very cautious cat. She has a tendency to get scared often and hide. She would do best in a quiet home with a very understanding owner that will help her come out of her shell. She is happy receiving head pets from someone she trusts, but usually hides from strangers.
Marlene does love being with other cats and kittens and would be very happy with a feline companion to pal around with. She plays with Patches, Chicago and China like they are her own litter mates! It is so cute!
FOSTER UPDATE, 7/17/10:
Marlene is a very sweet, beautiful cat. She loves to explore and jump onto high places. She has been very timid at first, but is slowly coming around. She like to play with her "jingle bell" toy and loves to have her ears scratched. She gets along really well with her foster brother cat. I think Marlene would be best in a household with no children or dogs. Marlene needs a family who is very patient and willing to spend some time making her comfortable. Marlene is definitely worth the time!!!
FOSTER UPDATE, 8/5/10:
What a difference a couple of weeks makes! Marlene has really started to come out of her shell. She is the first one to greet me when I come home at night and when I wake up in the morning. She loves to be petted and "flops" right at your feet. She doesn't like to be held, but likes to sit in my lap. She loves to be brushed (thank goodness!). Marlene is frightened of new things and takes some time to get used to new sounds or people, but patience really pays off. She really is a wonderful, sweet little girl and anyone would be lucky to have her.
