Eli was surrendered to PRBJ when his family living situation changed and they were no longer able to care for him. He gets along with other dogs.He is in a foster home with cats and does ok, when redirected. Note, these cats are used to having 5 dogs around, so they know when and how to get away by jumping the gate and going upstairs.
Eli is friendly, enjoys getting attention, and is potty trained. Eli is food assertive and will need more training with this. He has gotten a little better but he will need to be separated from other dogs when being fed. An adult only home or one with older teens is ideal. He does require a home that has Frenchie or experience with brachycephalic breed dogs.
Eli does not like to be crated and has been left in an enclosure while the family is away. He is not fond of being closed up in the area either. So someone that works from home or home a lot would be ideal. He does get protective over his space and can get nippy when putting him into the enclosure or if people or dogs try to get in. New owners will need to continue working with him on training so he learns the crate is not a bad space.
Eli is good around kids; however, due to his nippiness, we are recommending an adult only home or older teen home.
