About Pádrick | |
|
|
Pádrick was surrendered to PRBJ. He is a friendly and loving little boy who is looking for his forever home. He's good with the other dogs at the rescue, loves people, and enjoys going for walks. He had not had much exposure to other dogs when he got here but quickly realized how much fun it was to play with all the other puppies. We think he would do great with another canine buddy to share a home with. He is still a puppy, so he is working on his potty training but has not has any accidents while with us. He is food motivated and smart. He is quiet and pretty relaxed for a puppy. He loves toys and getting lots of attention. Little Pádrick has the sweetest little eyes that look right through you.
New puppy parents must be dedicated to obedience, socialization and potty training to ensure the pup grows up to be a happy and well-adjusted dog. We highly recommend their new family attend puppy training classes. Training classes are the most successful when everyone in the family attends so you all learn about your new puppy.

Never heard of a Grand Basset Griffon Vendeen? Here's some info on the breed:
Often referred to as the "GBGV," the Grand Basset Griffon Vendéen is a shaggy, active, and independent scent-Hound from France. They were originally developed to help hunt deer, boar, and other large game—however, today, the GBGV's sweet personality and relatively calm demeanor make it the perfect pick for an active family or owners with other dogs. The GBGV is a pack dog, so they'll thrive in households with multiple dogs of their size and energy level.
They are high energy dogs and need lots of exercise....they will get bored and destructive if not exercised enough. Like all Hounds, the Grand Basset Griffon Vendéen loves to follow his nose, so a fenced-in backyard or large is a must.
They tend to bark loudly and frequently and are not recommended for apartments or close living communities. As t
hey have a tendency to chase prey, they may not be good in homes with cats and smaller animals.
GBGVs are loyal, loving, and friendly dogs with low-maintenance grooming requirements. They are ideal for active, outdoorsy families.
