Description: Is it a dog or is it a bat? Have you ever seen such ears??? Buddy is a wonderful, playful little guy that we rescued from Seminole County Animal Control. He is recovering well from a chemical burn on his back - now, how did that happen? Apparently someone threw acid on him! Don't you just wonder about people sometimes? The hair is coming back in and he doesn't seem to be affected by it one bit. Buddy's happy-go-lucky spirit just shines through! All this plucky guy needs is a family with whom to love and play. Update: Buddy is being fostered by a lovely couple with a Pit Bull. The dogs became immediate pals - what do you expect from a dog named Buddy? The very first day they went to a pet store where another dog was acting poorly to Ranger, the Pit Bull. Old Buddy stepped right between them to defend his friend - not to fight, but to show solidarity! What a Buddy!!! You can see him and Ranger playing tug-of-war in one of the picture. So cute! Read what else his foster family has to say: "Buddy is a Joy to have. He is very eager to please he knows how to sit, give me paw,lay-down, stay( for a moment )and leave it! Hes wounderfull company for car rides. You will never need a door bell he will let u know if someone is outside but he also knows what enough means. He will be a great addition to any family big or small. When We went to pet store as mentioned above a small boy cam running over to us ( me being a new foster mom got a little scared)The small boy grabbed Buddy around the neck and started petting and hugging him. Buddy was not scared at all he knows the drill he sat down and gave that little boy lots of kisses!!"
*** How familiar are you with the Labrador Retriever? According to www.dogbreedinfo.com, the Labrador Retriever is a loving, affectionate, lovable, patient dog. Once known as the "St John's Dogs," the Labrador Retriever is one of the most popular breeds in the United States. Originally from Newfoundland, Canada the Labrador was trained to jump overboard into the icy waters to haul fisherman's nets to shore. Specimens were brought to England in the 1800's by English ships coming from Labrador, where the dog's fine retrieving instincts were honed and developed. One of the best family dogs and canine companions because of their gentle, loving disposition, the highly trainable Labrador also excels in drug detection, as a guide for the blind, and service dog for the disabled. The breed is also an outstanding obedience and field trial competitor. Highly intelligent, loyal, willing, and high-spirited. Lively and good-natured, they love to play, especially in water - for they love to swim. They have an excellent, reliable, temperament and are friendly, superb with children and equable with other dogs. They crave human attention and need to feel as though they are part of the family. Labs are easily trained. These dogs are watchdogs, not guard dogs, although some have been known to guard. They have a life expectancy of 10-12 years.
