Eclipse is one of the most beautiful cats you will ever lay eyes on. His fur is so shiny and soft. And his personality is absolutely magnetic. He's a special boy - all of us agree. He's very gentle, attentive and loving. A nuzzle from Eclipse is enough to make a rotten day completely bearable :) He deserves a wonderful home where he can be nurtured; his new family will be spoiled by the unwavering love he gives back.
1.2.10 Volunteer Update - Eclipse is now out and about and living among the kittens :) He is the coolest cat. He's ENORMOUS but still manages to SQUEEEEEEZE himself into tiny spaces to cuddle up. I sat on the floor and he immediately climbed into my lap, giving me little love bites and grabbiing my arm to pull me back when I stopped petting him. He is a true lover.
11.24.09 Volunteer Update~ 'Clipse is SUCH a sweet cat. He really loves to be around people and he seems to also really enjoy the company of other cats. Reggie and Bones, who are currently residing in the kitten room with him, will come up and touch noses whenever I go in to Eclipse's crate to say hello. If he could, I think 'Clipse would smile when he gets to sniff with his "buddies." So I would say he'd probably be great with another even-tempered, social cat. What great news for all us cat people who can't stand to have just one, huh?
It seems really sweet when your kitty weaves in and out of your feet, rubbing its little face and tail against your legs. While its nice to think the cat is doing it because he loves you; in reality, the cat is doing it because he OWNS you.
Cats have scent-producing glands on the tail, head, lips, chin and paws. But rubbing against your legs, the cat is leaving its unique scent on you, thus declaring his ownership of the territory to other cats. The same thing happens when they rub against the doorway, table, chair, bed, dog, refrigerator, keys, shoes, papers, computer etc. You may think those things belong to you, you silly person! But they belong to your cat. The sooner you realize this, the sooner you will live happily with your scent-marking cat.
