Description:
Tigh is a jewel! Read what his foster family has to say about him:
"Tigh was found running loose on the road. He is so friendly he came right up to the rescuer. He was covered in fleas. We gave him a bath, which he had never had, but he was great. We had him neutered and he now has all his annual shots. He is so grateful to have a pillow and a home. He is friendly and extremely loving -and is a lap dog though I am discouraging this due to the fact he may be about 60 pounds fully grown, but it is hard to deny him love. This dog will make an excellent companion for someone who wants a 'velcro' type of dog. He comes when he is called, he is currently undergoing some training, and it should be continuted. He appears to be house broken.. He is about 9 months old and is in need of some training, but we don't believe he will be a problem with an owner who loves him and has a soft hand. He is timid at first but comes out of it. 49 lbs at 9 months. MIx unknown.

He has personality plus seems to be smart as a whip. I He is healthy and happy. When I go for walks, he stays with me and if he strays off he comes when called. This dog would make a great pet for anyone. He is loving friendly attentive velcro well behaved. He has some chewing problems when I go to work, so I must continue his training and so should anyone who adopts him. He is rambunctious, but aren't most puppies?

He has no food agression or agression of any kind it seems. The only problem I see is that when playing in the yard he can be overly excited, but my littlest dog at 28 lbs gets mad at him and chases him off. He always lays down and shows his belly to everyone."

Okay, now who can resist that description? Seeing that he is so anxious to please and looks a bit like my first dog who was a lab mix, I'm guessing that he has some lab in him but we're not sure. I will say that mixed dogs often draw the best traits from all the pure-bred ancestors, and it sounds like this guy really has! *** How familiar are you with the Labrador Retriever? According to www.dogbreedinfo.com, the Labrador Retriever is a loving, affectionate, lovable, patient dog. Once known as the "St John's Dogs," the Labrador Retriever is one of the most popular breeds in the United States. Originally from Newfoundland, Canada the Labrador was trained to jump overboard into the icy waters to haul fisherman's nets to shore. Specimens were brought to England in the 1800's by English ships coming from Labrador, where the dog's fine retrieving instincts were honed and developed. One of the best family dogs and canine companions because of their gentle, loving disposition, the highly trainable Labrador also excels in drug detection, as a guide for the blind, and service dog for the disabled. The breed is also an outstanding obedience and field trial competitor. Highly intelligent, loyal, willing, and high-spirited. Lively and good-natured, they love to play, especially in water - for they love to swim. They have an excellent, reliable, temperament and are friendly, superb with children and equable with other dogs. They crave human attention and need to feel as though they are part of the family. Labs are easily trained. These dogs are watchdogs, not guard dogs, although some have been known to guard. They have a life expectancy of 10-12 years.
