My name is Delilah and I was left at a local kill shelter by my owner.  I am not sure why she did that.  I am a sweet and gentle dog with an great disposition.  Maybe I was because I am not a young puppy but who wants to deal with all the house training and chewed up shoes that come with having a puppy?   I am just happy that the nice people at the kill shelter reached out to Judy to see if she had room at her rescue for me.   I love hanging out with people and dogs so when someone signs up to do the DOG FOR A DAY Program I am one of the first ones that gets to go out.  I am great on the leash and love to ride in cars.  When we first meet I am a little excited but very quickly calm down and then my true self is shown to you, a happy and sweet doggy. I like to play but I am just as happy relaxing next to you.  Like I mentioned before there are some great benefits to getting an older dog.  I am already housebroken, I don't chew up the entire house, I understand commands and I am quite independent so if you leave the house I know how to just relax and wait for you to come back.  If you would like to take me out for the day please fill out the D4aD (Dog for a day) application.  I am also available to be fostered.  Both of those programs are awesome ways to get to know me better.  But I promise that if you put in the application to adopt me you won't regret it because I will love you forever.
