1/6 update:
Penelope is the people person of the group! She is the first to run out of her crate so she can go play (although right now she is stuck on-leash walk only and cannot go out). Of the Chihuahuas, Penelope is the one to jump on people seeking their attention. She enjoys playing with the other Chihuahuas and
needs a home with another smaller, active canine buddy.
Brownie would love a yard to romp and play in:)
Chihuahuas are lively, loyal, intelligent, spunky, playful and friendly dogs. They burrow under blankets, dance on their hind legs, wave their paws in the air, and lick everything in sight! Most Chihuahuas need little obedience training. Chihuahuas need to learn where to go to the bathroom, and where not to go – and this can be the biggest training challenge in this breed.
For this group of chihuahuas, we are requiring that their new home either has another small dog for them to bond with or that they are adopted with one of their siblings. They find comfort in one another and are very afraid when they are left alone.
PRBJ got a call from Hernando County asking for help in saving 29 small dogs who were living in a hoarding situation. The owners were being evicted, and the dogs had nowhere to go. Judy and the team didn’t hesitate to go help these poor babies, and the 29 Chihuahua mixes were rescued and brought back to PRBJ.
