Arlo is the most nervous of all of the chihuahuas we rescued from the hoarder. He takes a bit of time to warm up and become comfortable. He is incredibly cute and once he is comfortable with you he will gently play with you. Because of his nervous behavior, we are not recommending a home with children or visiting grand/children. He needs a quiet home where he can slowly come into his own.
Arlo can be frightened easily by larger dogs or dogs that are too energetic or dominant.
He would do best in a home where he is the only dog
or paired with another small,
calm, submissive cannie buddy to match his sweet, shy personality.
Chihuahuas
are lively, loyal, intelligent, spunky, playful and friendly dogs.
They burrow under blankets, dance on their hind legs, wave their paws in the air, and lick everything in sight!
Most
Chihuahuas
need little obedience training.
Chihuahuas
need to learn where to go to the bathroom, and where not to go – and this can
be
the biggest
training challenge in this breed.
PRBJ got a call from Hernando County asking for help in saving 29 small dogs who were living in a hoarding situation. The owners were being evicted, and the dogs had nowhere to go. Judy and the team didn’t hesitate to go help these poor babies, and the 29 Chihuahua mixes were rescued and brought back to PRBJ.
