UPDATE FROM WILLIE'S FOSTER:

Video of Willie and his blankie: https://youtu.be/etgu4eKJ5NU

Willie’s been with us for a couple of weeks now, and we are really getting a sense of his kooky personality. He has a blanket that he brought from his former home, and when he gets sleepy, he carries it out to the living room and sucks on a corner of it until he falls asleep like a baby. He loves all of his toys, tug toys, squeaky toys, plush toys (which he takes the stuffing out of and keeps on loving). He keeps his toys on his dog bed and plays with them by himself when he gets bored. He likes to get petted and has a little spot above his tail that makes him shiver in delight. He loves to chase the ball in the backyard, but is just as happy chasing squirrels and lizards. He doesn’t try to escape. He barks when someone comes to the front door, and he barks when the garbage truck goes by. He pulls on the leash when walking because he’s just so excited about everything. We haven’t walked him much because he loves the backyard so much, but if you plan a lot of walks he will need some help learning leash manners. He eats and sleeps in his crate, and he goes in the crate on command. He’s excited to see us in the morning, or when we’ve been gone. He’s really happy all the time and full of love.

Willie is totally housebroken, no accidents, no problem there.

The rest of the questions I am kind of guessing at. He seems excited about the dogs we see when walking, and the dogs in the neighbors yard on the other side of the fence. His demeanor is playful, tail wagging, barking. Based on that I would say he’s okay with other dogs, even though I’ve never seen him loose with other dogs.

Kids—of course, great with teenagers, he is wonderful and plays with my daughter and son. I haven’t seen him around younger kids, but he doesn’t like to be held down or have his paws examined. He also was like that with his ears, but we’ve been working on it, and he lets us touch his ears now. He doesn’t try to bite, just jerks away and gets manic to escape. Based on that, probably no small children.

He never shows any aggression. He barks at noises and people outside the house, but never growls or barks at us.

Willy arrived at PRBJ because his human unfortunately passed away. He is staying with one of our fosters until he finds his forever home. Below is what his foster has written about him!

"Willie is a happy boy who loves meeting new people, chasing lizards, and running around the yard. He is housebroken and crate trained. He follows basic commands (sit, down) and he’s been trained to take his cookie very delicately from your hand. He doesn’t jump up on people, and when playtime is over, he wanders off to lay on the floor or look out the window. He follows me from room to room if I’m walking around, but when I settle down, he does, too.
He likes to bond over a good game of fetch and will bring his ball and lay it in front of you, hoping you will take the hint. At first, he would just get distracted and forget to bring the ball back. When I brought home a ball launcher, I could tell he’d had one before. He got a whole new level of respect for my game. It’s on, now! Sometimes, when you’re working, he will play with his toys by himself, just to show you how much fun you could be having.

He is still working on loose leash walking and he tends to pull. He enjoys car rides and is not a picky eater. He is food motivated for training. He gets along great with the female in our home, but has a soft spot in his heart for men."
