Natasha is an adorable Lab mix puppy, blonde with brown and grey highlights.  Mixed with what?  I'm guessing Shepherd, but only time will tell.  Her momma is only about 35 pounds, so she probably won't be a large dog.  She and her family were rescued from a dump where her momma was caring for them.  They are much happier now and are looking forward to having a forever home.

Foster Update 8-29-09:  My son calls Natasha "Muffin Tops" because "she's just sooo cute".  She is a fiesty little girl and she is certainly the leader of the females because Lula and Rabbit follow her everywhere.  She is very playful and just loves attention.  She also loves to splash in the water bowl and she roots around for the best food on the bottom of the bowl which sometimes makes a mess.

Foster Update 9-17-09:  Tasha is the softest most beautiful little girl I have ever seen.  She is very loving but she is also a handful.  I cannot keep water in with the puppies for more than a few minutes otherwise she will have splashed it all out.  She LOVES playing in the water.  She is also an ankle biter and will attach herself to my pants leg as soon as I get close enough.  She thinks my pants are a tug-of-war toy that she can shake and growl at while playing.  I DO NOT encourage this.  She is fine with other people but she will bite me to the point where I have to pry her mouth open.  For this reason I would not recommend her with a young child.  My son is 8 and she does not bite him but that does not mean that she won't.  She just has a lot of puppy energy and needs a strong and loving person to share a forever home.

*** According to www.dogbreedinfo.com, the Labrador Retriever is a loving, affectionate, lovable, patient dog. Once known as the "St John's Dogs," the Labrador Retriever is one of the most popular breeds in the United States. Originally from Newfoundland, Canada the Labrador was trained to jump overboard into the icy waters to haul fisherman's nets to shore. Specimens were brought to England in the 1800's by English ships coming from Labrador, where the dog's fine retrieving instincts were honed and developed. One of the best family dogs and canine companions because of their gentle, loving disposition, the highly trainable Labrador also excels in drug detection, as a guide for the blind, and service dog for the disabled. The breed is also an outstanding obedience and field trial competitor. Highly intelligent, loyal, willing, and high-spirited. Lively and good-natured, they love to play, especially in water - for they love to swim. They have an excellent, reliable, temperament and are friendly, superb with children and equable with other dogs. They crave human attention and need to feel as though they are part of the family. Labs are easily trained. These dogs are watchdogs, not guard dogs, although some have been known to guard. They have a life expectancy of 10-12 years.
