Description:
leo is a great Puggle, you know, a cross between a Pug and a Beagle.  He was rescued from a high-kill shelter and is mighty appreciative  of that favor!  A sweet and laid back kinda guy, he enjoys being around other dogs but just loves being around people.  According to his foster, "Leo is great with cats, he even seems a little afraid of them.  When my 4 month old kitten walks up to him he looks away and avoids eye contact with her, it's very funny to see. Leo has the best smile I've ever seen.  When he is really happy he actually grins and shows all of his teeth, at first it kind of looks like he is snarling but he isn't, he is just really happy.  He aslo has very expressive ears they are usually just laid back but depending on his mood and what is going on around him he can put them straight up in the air or straight out to the side.  It is very cute.  In a way he reminds me of a very cute version of a Gremlin, especially when he is smiling and his ears are up.  Leo is crate trained and goes right in his crate with a treat.  He minds well and I think he will be very easy to train.  I believe he was mostly an outside dog in the past so he may need a little work with housetraining but he is a quick learner. He knows he is supposed to go potty outside but he has marked his territory in the house a couple of times. Once he is neutered his tendency to want to do this will be much less and I doubt he'll have any problems.  Leo is a very easy dog and would be great for an inexperienced dog owner because he is so easy to handle."

According to www.puggle.org, the Puggle is a small mixed breed of dog created by mating a pug and beagle, thereby producing an energetic hound having a thickset body, a short-haired, smooth coat of fawn, tan, and black coloring, a deeply wrinkled forehead, short legs, a curled tail, and drooping ears. Their coat consists of short hairs. Puggles come in a wide range of colors. Fawn/Tan puggles are the most common, but some are black, white, or tri-colored. Second generation puggles take on more of the white and tan or black, tan, and white coloring. Puggles are sweet-tempered, playful, energetic, intelligent, social, and affectionate. A puggle is a great companion. They are also very curious dogs. They get along well with children, other dogs, and other household pets. Puggles are very friendly and like to show you. They have a good amount of energy and love to play. They enjoy going on walks and running around. Puggles also love their downtime. They love to cuddle up to you on the couch or in bed.
