Thank goodness for Sidney's little meow!!! A woman found him shoved in a cardboard box with a dirty towel - thrown away like trash.
This good samaritan brought this little man to us and we are so happy we have a chance to find him a new home! His foster says he eats well, uses the litter box and shows his gratitude by purring purring purring.
Not all adult male cats spray. In fact, the vast majority don't. That is a very common misconception about cats and sometimes adult males have trouble getting adopted because of this bad rap!
Generally speaking, cats who spray ARE NOT FIXED. By neutering your cat, chances are you will eliminate this behavior. Spraying is a sign of territoriality and used as a way to attract females while they are in heat. By removing all of that silly testosterone :), you greatly reduce the chance of any kind of spraying behavior.
If there is a cat who is not appropriately using the litter box at home, it is best to take the cat to the veterinarian as soon as possible. Most often there is a physical reason for this behavior such as a urinary tract infection or a psychological cause such as stress. Your vet should be able to help diagnose the cause and consult on a solution.
