Betthoven's owner passed away and the niece did not want to care for him:( All rescues and shelters were full, so thankfully, he was brought to PRBJ as he was scheduled to be euthanized on 12/23/20. Our wonderful volunteer took him home and told us Betthoven is settling in; he is so distraught, but he is loving.
FOSTER UPDATE:
UPDATE: I've had the pleasure of being a foster mom to Beethoven for two weeks. He is a gentle older soul who loves companionship. He makes no attempt to get on furniture and is content to lay on the floor (often tile) as long as he can see you. He loves to be outside and I believe his forever home should have a yard. He also walks extremely well on a leash and requests walks often (sitting by the door and whining). I have taken him to the dog park on two occasions and he did well. He simply saunters about the park smelling all those special smells. His tail wags as he greets his fellow pups and moves on pretty quickly after the usual dog greetings. He does have arthritis which limits his flexibility; he has been started on arthritis medication and I believe it is helping him. He is housetrained but I do take him out often. I believe his ideal home will be a family looking for an older pup with or without an older dog. This beautiful pup is well worth adding to your life.
