Just ignore all of the superstitions about black cats. Black cats are pure luck and love. I think they become more affectionate because they sometimes become overlooked. Salem is a sweet baby - and is one who will stick out his paw to grab your hand so that he can rub his soft little head against it.  Salem is a fantastic cat and will be the sweetest pet...

 

08.01.10 Volunteer Update:  When I was at the Center today taking new photos of the animals, this one black cat kept following me around, rubbing against my leg...looking for affection.  I leaned over to take photos of a different cat when all of a sudden a cat was on my back!  Salem was on a cat tree and had jumped on my back.  He stayed there riding around as I continued taking pictures.  The only reason he got down was because I had to leave the room to continue to taking photos.  What a sweet guy Salem is!
