Description:

FOSTER UPDATE 7/18/20: Sandra is the sweetest girl! She always greets us at the door when we arrive and is wiggling with joy when we wake up. She is amazing on a leash and will use the bathroom quickly when we take her outside. She is a cuddle bug and would happily curl up with you to watch a movie. Sandra patiently sits while I mix her wet and dry food for dinner and shows no food aggression. She's not crazy about water, but is really well behaved during a bath. Sandra will stay at the front door, but runs out the pack because she enjoys chasing the squirrels out of the yard. I have two cats and she wants to play with them, but shows no aggression towards them. She gets a little anxious during thunderstorms and car rides, but she stays in the back seat and behaves well. In the two weeks I've had her she mostly played with her toys, but she did chew my boyfriend's shoe
once when we were sleeping, I think she just missed him. Sandra is a sweetheart, a love bug and would be a great addition to your family!

Sandra is a sweet but nervous girl. We know that at some point she was lost in the woods before being found by animal control. She has a scar on her back that looks like the indent of a harness that maybe she grew into when she was smaller.
If Sandra is given the opportunity to run, she will.  You would really have to be on guard with opening up a car door, home door and she can jump a 6 foot fence.
She also had a recent formal behavior evaluation done and received an almost straight A scorecard. At first meet, Sandra is so very nervous and jittery.  But, after awhile with you, she will gain your trust and love you.
Like many surrendered rescues, Sandra is heartworm positive. PRBJ staff has administered the slow kill using 30 days of Doxycycline to treat her.
