Foster Update: Alani and Fern were very sick when they came to us. Poor Alani's side had
a large hole in it
that has taken 10 weeks to heal. My daughter and I spent weeks day and night nursing them back to health. Fern got better and then suffered a broken leg.
They would love to be adopted together, or at least with another dog in the home. They are both very sweet and loving but they are nervous right now adjusting to a new foster home, and will need a home where owners will give them these pups time and attention to feel comfortable in their new homes.
Both are getting a little more confident in the home and out in the large back yard. It is strongly encouraged that the family that adopts either of them has a fenced in yard. The girls are still very attached to each other and Alani seems to need Fern's lead when exploring new things. Since they were not exposed to men for most of their lives, they seem timid around my husband who continually offers them love and attention.
They are good with older children, but as all puppies jump and chew. They are working on housetraining and are potty pad trained.
-------------------------
Their parents were not neutered and had an unwanted pregnancy. Their owners did not know what to do with them, so they dropped them off at a kill shelter. (PLEASE spay and neuter your pets!)
These puppies will probably be around 60 lbs, so they need a family who is prepared to house and care for a large breed dog for 10-15 years. FENCED YARD IS PREFERRED.
Please fill out an application to meet them!
