Lady Blue is a lovely little puppy.  She is a blue-ish black coloring with the coolest marbling under her legs.  Really, very unique!  This little pumpkin was found wandering the streets in downtown Orlando.  We're so glad that she was rescued by a sweet woman who would have loved to keep her but was subject to pet limitations at her apartment.  Well, no problem, we'll find Lady Blue a home!  Meanwhile Regina is fostering her, giving her the love and attention that she needs, plus working on that housetraining thing.  Smart dog ~ she'll figure it out quick!

6/15 Foster Update:
Just checking in to let you know that Blue is doing great!  She loves my two dogs and the cat (although the cat ignores the dogs) and does very well with my kids.  They love her b/c she's so petite and mellow.  We're working on basic obedience; so far she's learned "sit" and we're working on "stay".  She does pretty well walking on a leash.  She is housebroken, and has not chewed/destroyed/broken anything.  We kept her in the crate for the first few nights, but after that we let her sleep in the living room with our golden retriever.  We've taken her on several outings, and everyone loves her.  Even the pet store employees commented on how sweet and calm she was!  She has never shown any aggression or fear, and is *very* friendly.

6/16 Foster Update:
Lady Blue IS housebroken and crate trained!  She loves my other dogs and would probably prefer a home with doggie siblings, but that's just MHO.    I know labs in general are highly active, but she's pretty calm.  I will work on getting you some better pics.  It's kind of hard to get her to sit still. When people get close she wants to lick them.  ;-)

*** According to www.dogbreedinfo.com, the Labrador Retriever is a loving, affectionate, lovable, patient dog. Once known as the "St John's Dogs," the Labrador Retriever is one of the most popular breeds in the United States. Originally from Newfoundland, Canada the Labrador was trained to jump overboard into the icy waters to haul fisherman's nets to shore. Specimens were brought to England in the 1800's by English ships coming from Labrador, where the dog's fine retrieving instincts were honed and developed. One of the best family dogs and canine companions because of their gentle, loving disposition, the highly trainable Labrador also excels in drug detection, as a guide for the blind, and service dog for the disabled. The breed is also an outstanding obedience and field trial competitor. Highly intelligent, loyal, willing, and high-spirited. Lively and good-natured, they love to play, especially in water - for they love to swim. They have an excellent, reliable, temperament and are friendly, superb with children and equable with other dogs. They crave human attention and need to feel as though they are part of the family. Labs are easily trained. These dogs are watchdogs, not guard dogs, although some have been known to guard. They have a life expectancy of 10-12 years.
