Prince came to PRBJ via his previous owner. She was an elderly woman and was having a hard time caring for him on her own. Prince loves to go for long walks, and regretfully, she could not keep up.
Since he has been with us, we have observed that he is fearful of people initially which causes him to growl as a warning to stay away. Once we spent some one-on-one time with him, we noticed that he has no problem sitting and playing with your feet and being touched with your feet, but if you reach to touch him with your hands, he will give a warning growl. This is typical behavior of a dog that has been hit.

Prince requires an adult only home.

It is very possible that once Prince settles into his new home and knows he is safe with his person, all of that behavior will melt away. We have high hopes for Prince because you can tell that he so badly wants to accept love, but he just does not know how yet.
He loves to play with little toys (cat sized), and he loves walks. He can walk for as long as you will allow him and has a big smile on his face. His new owner will need to be dedicated to this little guys exercise routine. We think if Prince had a doggy friend in the home, this would help him come out of his shell and understand that his owner is not going to hurt him. Please fill out an application to meet him!
