Southern Belle came from a high kill shelter. She delivered her 7 pups in Judy's bathroom and was a great mom. Now that her pups are weaned, she can enjoy the company of the other dogs in the house and take a break from her babies.  

Foster update May 2019: We call Southern Belle "Mama" as she came to us while weaning her pups.    She is a sweetheart and gets along with all of the dogs at our house, from 5# to 60# though she can forget her size when playing with the littler ones.    She has been here for almost two weeks and as she settles in, she is remembering that she is not that old, despite having had so many pups. She does like to chew on kongs and nylabones but needs supervision as she can be tempted by shoes, towels, newspapers, etc! She also loves bouncing tennis balls and watching where they go, then grabbing them and doing it all over again!  She is crate trained and house trained. She is VERY fast and very good at catching lizards!  She is very agile now that she has lost her puppy and baby weight and is also quite curious. She can jump a 3 foot fence if she wants to get to something on the other side, so definitely needs supervision.  She is a friendly and sweet girl with a lot of energy who will make somebody a great companion! She is strong and would benefit from basic training but is a quick and eager learner.  Southern Belle is also food motivated, which will help with training!
