Description:

Sadie Frost was found as a stray and after all attempts were made to find her owners, the finder could no longer keep her. They contacted Judy so we could find a suitable home for such an energetic and smart dog. A Cattle dog needs a savy owner (experience with the breed is preferred). We prefer a home with no small children under the age of 12 just because they like to herd, and people often mistake it as nipping. This breed requires lots of exercises and often needs a "Job". So if you're looking for a couch potato this is not the dog for you! Cattle dogs are very intelligent and active and will make great pets for the right owner.

FOSTER UPDATE:

After a week of foster, here's the low down on Sadie:
I have worked with her a lot in the last week.   She is very smart.  She has great focus for such a young dog.
She's a bit picky about reward treats, the best results were found using cheddar cheese.

I have "clicker trained" her.
She knows "Sit"
She knows "look"
She knows "down"  (still a bit weak)
She knows "Come"  (indoors away from distractions)
She targets to an open palm  (if you show her an open palm, she will touch her nose to your hand)
She is a great retriever, she loves the game.   Still learning to return, but doing great  (Frisbees, bumpers, balls, any and all toys.)
She walks on a leash very well (she did before I got her)
She is potty trained, not one accident in the house, the whole week!

She is NOT a barker
She loves chasing lizards
Very interested in Squirrels and cats
If you have a hole in your fence, she will try and get out.
She must always be on a leash when outside (when not fenced in).   She is great at keeping away.
She wants to be on beds and couches, but she can be taught to stay off.   (I've kept her off the whole week).

Also,
She's a big time chewer, so she needs bones.   The harder nylabones seemed to be her preference

She's good with a gentle leader as well.  We took half the walks using that, requires no input at all from the handler.  Self-correcting with a small dog.
