3/5 Foster update:He is definitely a Mama's boy and has grown comfortable with me. He still has his tail tucked around everyone other than me, and when seiong new people while on walks. He's still a little head shy, but is getting better every day.
He's also a celebrity now! I was cooking and he was interested and I got the PERFECT picture of him and posted it on an Aldi fan page. He got over 4,000 likes and a few hundred comments!
Marcelo would be best with a patient and understanding owner/family who has experience with rehabilitation in dogs. He would love to have a calm and gentle doggie friend to play with. 

Dog for a Day Update:
Marcelo is an extremely gentle dog. He looks very intimidating at first but after spending a few seconds with him, you realize how nervous and scared he actually is. He's one of those sweet animals who looks you directly in the eyes so he can get read on you. I absolutely loved that about him because it helped me read him better. We went for a walk and was going to pass another dog but he looked at me and something told me he didn't want to pass them so we turned around. We also started to walk across an old bridge surrounded by trees and he seemed to get nervous crossing over so he gave me that look and we turned around. I mention this because anyone who is interested in Marcelo will need to be patient and aware of his feelings. After spending a few hours with him, he didn't want to leave my lap. I have a feeling that whoever becomes his human soulmate will have a protector for life. I think it's going to take a while to help build his confidence but the work and patience will be worth it. We took him to a restaurant where we sat outside and he was very well behaved, very interested in what's going on but didn't bark or get rambunctious. I don't think he knows how to play yet but I hope we can continue to spend more time to help him with that. I would adopt him in a heartbeat if we didn't have 3 cats with health conditions. Whoever is lucky enough to have Marcelo will have a very loyal and kind companion. 

Marcelo is such a sweet boy! He is great with all other house pets (cats and dogs, small and large). We are not sure what has happened to him in his past, but whatever did happen has caused him to be initially timid. However, once he warms up to you he is very loving.  He needs a quiet, patient home so that his true personality can come out. He is so sweet and wants to have a family of his own! BONUS : He's already house trained :)
