Description:

03/27/2018:   When Kerry was returned her owner came back the next day to get her.   He stated he missed her so much and was up the whole night thinking of her.  Well, Kerry was returned again today, her owner is now in the hospital and this time he cannot care for her anymore.   Both Kerry and owner are heartbroken.   Kerry is good with children and other dogs.   She would benefit from a family that has someone home most of the day.   She would love walks and just hanging out with you.   Kerry is housetrained.   Please if you are interested in her please put an adoption application in.   She was such a great mom when she had her babies and now that they are all adopted we promised her a great home also.   Please help us keep that promise.

Kerry did get adopted and was returned.   We feel Kerry would do best with an active family, a family that loves to go on walks and runs. Also, another option would be a family that is home most of the day and possibly have another dog.  Of course we would have to test both dog's together.   This girl is so sweet and is so sad and scared to be at the shelter.   Please if you can help she is available for fostering also.

Kerry was a fantastic mom and now it is her turn to find her forever home.  She gave birth to five beautiful puppies at a high kill shelter and PRBJ rescued them. Kerry is a fence jumper so she would need to be watched when outside. She is almost housetrained and gets along with all dogs. She is an active girl looking for a fun-loving family to share life with. Kids, yes, she loves kids!  If you are interested in giving Kerry her forever home, please submit and application for review.

Feb. 2nd, 2018 DOG 4 A DAY UPDATE:

We took Kerry out for Dog For A Day.  She was an absolute sweetheart who is calm, gentle, loving and patient.   I never heard her bark once.  We spent a little time at our house where Kerry quickly became comfortable, relaxing with the kids, exploring and napping.   She loves to lay on her back and especially loves when she's hugged.  She was amazing with my kids, ages 10-12.  Kerry was very calm in the car, she just sat and looked out the window.  We took her for a walk at a park and she did really well on the leash.  We stopped for some ice cream, which by the way, she LOVES vanilla ice cream.  Several people came over to pet her and she was happy for the attention.  We browsed at the pet store where again, Kerry was a rock star.  I hope she gets adopted soon, we had a really hard time saying good bye to her and it was only for a few hours!  She'll do great in any setting.  Kerry is a super calm, happy companion.

April 4th 2018 Update:
Kerry was introduced to some of our cats at the shelter and she seemed to do well with them. She did not act agressive and wagged her tail. It is still extremily important that if she is indroduced to cats, it is in a controlled and safe environment.
