About Waida | |
|
|
09/25/2018: Waida was owner surrendered back to PRBJ. Her owner moved to a smaller apartment and was not able to take her. Please keep in mind that your pets are family members, when you are looking to move. Pets are not disposable. This situation has happened to Waida twice, and it is not her fault. There are places to move that accommodate size and breeds. She needs her forever family that will not give up on her, due to her size.
Waida is housetrained, good with other dogs, cats and children. She is very playful. Waida does enjoy going for walks and enjoys being bathed. If you are interested in Waida please put an application in.
Dog for a Day Update (October 2018):
Waida did very well! We took her for a walk at Baldwin Park and she walked nicely on her leash. She used an Easy-Walk harness. She was petted by many people including children and was very friendly with them all! She is very quiet and only barked once when she saw our naighbor from the backyard. She likes it if you throw a stick, but will not fetch it. She likes to chew on the stick if you hold it for her. She did well in our house and just enjoyed being where we were. She laid down and slept most of the time there. She enjoyed belly rubs. She came in contact with 3 cats and did not chase them or back at them. She also did not chase or bark ar squirrels, ducks, or other dogs at the park. She liked having the windows open in the car. She is a very sweet and nice dog! She seems like shes's just a big couch potato and likes to be near people.
---------------------------------------------------
We rescued Waida from a high kill shelter, she was surrendered there from her owners due to them moving into a smaller apartment. We were advised that Waida did live with an infant child and a cat and was good with them. She never lived with another dog, but her behavior was fine in the car being transported to us. Waida is selective about the dogs she wants to be around and may do best as an only dog.
We were also advised that she is partially housetrained, so she might need more help with potty training.
