Stark is the sweetest boy!!! He is very active but also very loving and laid back once he gets his energy worked out. Loves his toys and loves to give kisses and snuggles. He seems to be somewhat submissive with his rougher litter-mates so he should be easily socialized. He is undergoing some training classes as to curb possessiveness with his toys and food. The optimal family has alpha breed experience, older kids, and a fenced back yard to play in.
His frame is on the larger size with the litter so he will most likely be more his daddy's size which is about 50 lbs but then again, maybe a little less. His blue eyes and his beautiful grey and white markings make him a very handsome little boy!
He is loved by all who have met him. And he loves running and chasing little boys through the yard! Videos may not upload properly but the foster mom will proudly show anyone who wants to ask.
10/23/2017 Foster Update: Stark is doing very well. He is such a smart boy! He is in puppy classes and can do his sit, down, stand, touch, stay back commands like a champ. He is very good about following his potty schedule i.e. he will go outside if he is taken out (but will go inside if not taken out on schedule). He sleeps through the night in his crate in his foster mom's room. He doesn't cry in his crate at night or in the morning. Currently while being trained he is going to work with his foster mom and sleeping in a crate in her office. He does very well with just a couple potty breaks a day.
Stark spent the weekend with a friend and her dog Chance (beautiful male American Bulldog you'll see in some photos). He was such a good boy. He hung out in the front yard and watched football with his new friends - fit right in right away.
Stark is good with other dogs once he knows he is safe. He might act a little "snarky" if the other dog exhibits a lot of energy, but he settles in pretty fast with all dogs so far. He will do well with a dog that will just ignore that. If you had a dog that isn't tolerant, it won't be a good fit for this little guy (or any puppy really ;-). He will bark at other dogs is seeing in a distance. We are working on desensitizing him to that and he has made good progress. Even got to go into the dog park last Friday with the big dogs for a few minutes!
Oh, he is good with kitties (likes to test them but has found the consequences to be harsh) and kids and all people! Loves to give kisses and hear how cute/handsome he is…
10/2/17 Foster update: His foster mom is working with him on his manners with other dogs, and some bone and toy manners as well. He goes out to patios and meetups like a champion! He is enrolled in group class with a seasoned trainer who is confident he can be a confident well-adjusted puppy. His new family must be willing to complete his training with him. His foster mom takes all her dogs through this program and loves the bonding experience of it. Oh, and the tab is on her! With proper handling and introductions he will be fine with the right doggie brother or sister.
STARK has had exposure to kitties and even though he is very interested and thinks he might like to chase - he doesn't! He quickly retreats to find a safe spot behind your leg. He really is a sweet puppy! Loves to run and play, and loves to chew on his toys especially the loud ones.
He is crate trained. Sleeps in a crate at night, and during the day between play times while resting or chewing on his Kong bone. Not quite housetrained yet, but when he is able to be the sole focus, it will only take a couple days…
Stark would be best in a home with a fenced backyard and with an owner who has trained alpha breeds before.
