Nova was adopted from PRBJ, but her owner is now unable to keep her. So, Nova is back with us, looking for her forever home.  Nova is a 10 yr old Poodle mix that is housebroken; however, her new owner will need to be diligent about getting her out for potty breaks or have a doggie door because she does not signal when she needs to go outside.

Nova has been around teenagers. Due to her age and nervousness of loud things, we are recommending a home without children or one with older teens.

Nova does not like the doorbell, knocking on the door or thunder; these things cause her to continuously bark and shake until she feels safe again.

Per her former owner, she is not a fan of the vet, groomer or new places and will poop out of fear.  Nova does not like to be crated; however, she must be when you leave because she becomes anxious, chews things and has potty accidents if left to roam free.

Nova enjoys laying on a cushion in the sun and likes to ride in the carseat so she can see where she is going.  She does enjoy going out for walks and being with her humans.   Here at the center, Nova has been quiet amidst our phones ringing and folks coming in and out of the door.

Until we get to know her better, we are recommending a calm home and owners who are home much of the day to acclimate her to new sounds and environments. A fenced backyard would be ideal for her to safely play in and reinforce pottying.
