Hello, my name is Layla. I am living with a foster family, but my heart's desire is to have a forever home. I thought I had found a good home, but it turned out they were looking for a different kind of kitty, so they gave me back. Do you have a place in your heart and life for me?
I'm only 3 years old, which means I have a long future to share my love with you! If you look closely at my pictures, you can see that I have some Siamese in my heritage, which really shows in my stunning blue eyes. If they don't draw you in, my adorable freckled nose definitely will! Enough about how gorgeous I am, though. Let's talk about my personality.
The first thing you should know about me is that I love to snuggle for a few minutes at a time. I will jump up to be with you several times a day to get lots of pettings. When I am ready for food or affection, I will talk to you. I really enjoy carrying on a conversation!
I'll nudge you with my head and plop down with my back against you, while letting you know with my words how much I love you. I especially like being caressed and having my head scratched. If you bring out the catnip, you can watch me roll around in ecstasy!
When we're done cuddling, I like to quietly keep to myself, just like many cats. Unlike some other kitties, though, I burrow under beds or in cupboards for my alone time. My foster dad has been making safe spaces up high to draw me out to help improve my confidence. I think I would really like a home with high-up cat shelves and cubby holes at the top of cat trees to allow me alone time but keep me out in the family area.
My foster mom says I need someone with a lot of love and a little bit of patience, since I am very timid. I love people and don't seem at all afraid of adults or even children, but I lack the confidence to sit out in the open with them right now. If you close off the spaces under furniture and give me a safe space up-high, you should see that get better very quickly!
I am not at all violent; I won't bite or claw you. And I am fastidious about using the litter box (which is way better than some other kitties I've met)!
Unfortunately, I am very afraid of other cats. Timid kitties like me often get attacked by others, so I find it hard to trust that I'm safe around them. I am not at all aggressive; I just hiss and run away to hide when I see another cat. Even if the other cat is not paying attention to me, I still get scared. I would feel a lot safer in a home without other animals, although a really patient family could work with me to help me overcome my fears.
