Belle is a lovely Sheltie mix with black highlights.

Foster update 5/4: Jean Belle's foster recently gave me an update on our girl Belle. This is how she described Belle to me.......A great watchdog. Very aware of people in and outside the home. Likes to protect her home. Will growl and bark at strangers unless properly introduced. Does not like to be agressively handled (i.e. grabbed by collar, pulled hard on leash, forced into crate). She does something we call fear biting. If she is not properly introduced to a person (either in your home, at the vets, or on a walk) and they go to pet her right way or grab her leash she bits. Now its not a tear your face off bit but its a good nip. We had a jack russell whom had this same issue. He would bit you if he felt in danger. All Belle needs is to be properly introduced to everyone. She needs to come to people first (not people coming at her) sniff the hand or leg or whatever. After a few minutes of Belle getting to know the person then, they can gentlely pet (if the Belle is ready). So this being said i would say no young children around her. She is cautious at first but warms up very quickly. She is a lover and cuddler once she knows you. Does well with cats (as she lives with 8 currently), is ok with other dogs whom are gentle with her (lives with about 3 smaller breed dogs currently). She previously has lived in a quite household with an elderly women. This is the enviroment she feels most comfortable in so lets find a less hectic home for her!
