Description: "Don't hate me because I'm beautiful." That's what goes through my mind every time I see SaraBeth. That and, "Who named this exotic cat SaraBeth!" But that's a different matter.... Sarabeth is a beautiful Calico with what I call the Majestic Cat personality. She is self-assured, very loving, but wants little to do with other cats. It is as if she knows there is a limited amount of admiration available in the house and she thinks it should all be directed to her. No problem ~ she is worthy! SaraBeth came to us from a high kill shelter in Georgia where she and 49 other cats were scheduled to be euthanized the next Friday. To make matters worse, the shelters in Georgia use gas, a cost effective way to kill a lot of pets, but one that is horrible. They begin to whimper and die crying. It is awful. It is illegal in most states but sadly not in our neighboring state. Fortunately for SaraBeth and a handful of other cats, a few goodhearted people pulled her out and brought her to us to find a home. Our pleasure! If you aren't familiar with Calicos, let me educate you a bit. Calicos are white cats with red and black patches. They are almost always females. Cool, huh?
9/3 Volunteer Update: I was able to spend some time with Sarah Beth and I cannot say enough wonderful things about her. Her beautiful coloring and soft fur are only a small part of what makes her irresistable. She just lights up when someone pays her attention. She really adores human contact and nuzzles and purrs and gives the squinty-eyed kitty "I love you" look. She's not terribly fond of other kitties, but that's okay. She'll make a perfect pet for someone who enjoys receiving lots of love.
